The County Tax Assessor's Office is transitioning municipalities into the State Division of Taxation's Annual Reassessment Program, a modernized approach designed to keep property values accurate and ensure every taxpayer pays their fair share. ⚖️
✅ What this means for you:
• Property values are updated EVERY year (not once a decade)
• Roughly 20-25% of homes inspected annually, full cycle every 5 years
• Your assessment will reflect 100% of market value, making tax appeals easier to evaluate
• NO increase in total taxes collected, it's about fair distribution 💡
